What I Do
Simplest way to put it: I’m helpful. And, I’m passionate about being helpful.
I created She Kan! Kompany and developed what I like to refer to as a visioneering process built around the question, “Are you pursuing YOUR possibilities?”
She Kan! Kompany provides Accountability Partnering and Life Purpose, or Life Improvement Strategizing through Individualized Personal and Small Business Coaching.
Through powerful questioning and detailed conversations with my clients I help my clients address the actions THEY ARE taking toward defining and organizing their how’s, what’s, why’s, and possibilities in their Personal and Professional lives.
Most of my clients are entrepreneurs, small business owners or independent contractors (financial services professionals, wealth advisers, real estate brokers, niche consultants). Several have started their own businesses already.
Some are working into the end of their first year, and some have been doing what they do for years, but need help taking the leap to their desired “next level” of success.
What I see over and over is my clients are getting in their own way.
How exactly do I see my clients “getting in their own way”?
How are my clients preventing themselves from taking the leap to their desired “next level” of success by standing in their own way?
There are repeating themes related to the small business owner/ “SOLO”preneur getting in his or her own way.
- Key word “SOLO”!! Solopreneurs wear SO many hats to manage their businesses, they use and need a lot of time to get the jobs done associated with all these hats, and very often they’re unclear with themselves about when to seek help, or they simply don’t take the time to stop an acknowledge help would move them forward.
- In an effort to save cash and continuously fill all the roles/demands of small business ownership (wear all the hats – admin., accountant, business developer, marketing person, networker, etc.) the real work they’re passionate about doing becomes less and less of what they’re actually doing. Their use of time AND how they purpose their time comes into question, and thus – they are IN THEIR OWN WAY.
- My clients are very hard on themselves, demanding nearly perfection – their own worst critics. The time to “get out of their way” can be distracting, stressful , difficult to accept and uncertain. The idea of Perfection Paralysis comes to mind. Habits have been formed. Default actions and behaviors exist. Making beneficial changes can often be uncomfortable and frustrating – yet truly craved, because the work they were passionate about pursuing in the first place is truly what they wish to accomplish.
So, how do I help my clients? Following are the main areas where I help my clients make positive and effective changes not only benefiting their small businesses but their personal lives.
- Evaluating Time Use, Allocation and Purposes
- Self-Assessing Authentically and Accountability
- Strategizing for Change and Bringing Dreams to Life
I help my clients identify how to use their time more effectively, give themselves credit for what they’re doing right, celebrate their successes and find solutions or resources to help the change process feel effective instead of too uncomfortable and frustrating.
Typically I meet with most of my clients (personally/phone) every other week for about an hour. Very often we email or communicate in between for Accountability purposes. For my part, I usually “Ping” clients as a matter of checking-in with them about a certain effort they’ve committed to working on in the most recent meeting.
